Addenda et Corrigenda to the Hamito-Semitic Etymological Dictionary (HSED) by V. Orel and O. Stolbova (II)

Leonid Kogan1

1 Moscow

The present article presents additional critical remarks on the Semitic and Afroasiatic lexical comparisons proposed in the Hamito-Semitic Etymological Dictionary (HSED) by V. Orel and O. Stolbova. It continues the review-article of this important lexicographic work earlier published by the present author in collaboration with I.M. Diakonoff (ZDMG 146:1, 1996). The first pages of the article deal with questions and objections raised by the authors of HSED in their reply to the aforementioned review (ZDMG 147:1, 1997).
